About Us ⟩ Our Founding Legacy
Amicus was created for patients with rare diseases, with patients with rare diseases. In 2005, John Crowley became our first CEO, bringing with him the personal mission of a father whose children were living with the neuromuscular disorder Pompe disease. His family’s story of resilience and hope inspires all of us at Amicus.
With that truly remarkable story as part of our history, we remain fierce in our advocacy for all patients with rare diseases, starting with really listening to their experiences and understanding their needs.
At Amicus, we are unwavering in our commitment to supporting the patients who take our medicines, to reach more patients as quickly as possible with the medicines we have today, and to bring forward new medicines to help even more patients tomorrow.
At Amicus, we’ve always known that we’re not just developing medicines — we’re building hope. And we’re doing it together with patients.
