Welcome to Amicus Patient Advocacy

At Amicus, we are committed to supporting members of the rare and orphan disease community by:
  • listening and learning from individuals and their families affected by these diseases;
  • searching for new and better therapies;
  • initiating clinical trials for those therapies as our research advances through the drug development process; and
  • providing useful information and resources to help manage the daily challenges of living with a rare, genetic disease.
Amicus Patient Advocacy works in partnership with patient organizations and with individual patients and their caregivers to ensure we gain the range of perspective and insights to help us best understand the community’s experience. By building strong alliances, excellent communication and collaboration within the rare disease community, Patient Advocacy hopes to ease the difficulties encountered by members of the rare disease community in accessing support and services across their disease experience and in meeting their ongoing need for improved therapies.

As you visit this Patient Advocacy section of the Amicus Therapeutics’ website, you will find valuable information about the genetic diseases in which we are actively developing an investigational drug program using the pharmacological chaperone technology. We also provide information about external resources and services that are available to support the disease community. Our Programs section contains information on our investigational drugs and their status in clinical development, and our events page lists selected events that are happening within the disease communities to educate, support, and advocate on behalf of its members. As we continue to move forward in development, we will add services aimed at meeting the needs of the rare and orphan disease community. We invite you to offer comments and suggestions and to come back to the website frequently.

Please feel free to contact us with questions and ideas as you navigate through your experience with the rare disease community, Amicus, and/or pharmacological chaperone technology: patientadvocacy@amicusrx.com. Hearing from you can only keep us better informed.
